Challenge

The E8 polytope is a highly symmetrical mathematical entity with significance in theoretical physics, string theory, and symmetry groups. The task was to make this abstract eight-dimensional structure accessible as a visual experience.

Solution

Kirell Benzi Studio created a dynamic visualization presenting the projection of the eight-dimensional E8 lattice into three-dimensional space. Each vertex represents a root of the E8 lattice, revealing the structure and hidden symmetries of this exceptional geometry.

Outcome

The work was exhibited at EPFL Pavilions for Shapes: Patterns in Art and Science. It created a bridge between theoretical physics, pure mathematics, and visual art.
